Nigeria’s senior men’s volleyball team completed a flawless campaign at the 2026 African Nations Cup Zone 3 Qualifiers in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, after defeating Burkina Faso 3-0 in their final match to finish the tournament unbeaten.
The Nigerian side dominated the encounter, claiming a straight-set victory of 25-17, 25-23, 25-22 to record a clean sweep of all their matches in the qualifiers.
The result sealed a perfect campaign and reaffirmed the team’s status as one of the strongest sides in the region.
Having already secured qualification for the 2026 CAVB African Nations Cup in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria ended the qualifiers on a high note with an impressive display of power, discipline and consistency.
The unbeaten run is expected to boost the team’s confidence as they shift focus to the continental championship, where they will battle Africa’s best for the title and a place on the global stage.
