Nigeria’s U18 women’s beach volleyball team have booked their place in the semifinals of the 2026 African U18 Beach Volleyball Development Cup in Senegal.
The Nigerian girls maintained their unbeaten run with a convincing 2–0 victory over Mozambique, winning 21–15, 21–17 on Wednesday.
Coach John Iwerima praised the team’s tactical discipline, saying the players are showing impressive growth and have more to offer as the tournament progresses.
Iwerima said the main objective is to expose the young athletes to international competition and prepare them for bigger challenges ahead.
He added that winning the title would be a major boost to the players’ profiles and a significant achievement for the Nigeria Volleyball Federation.
Nigeria will now turn its attention to the semifinals, with hopes of taking another step towards the championship.
