The Edo State Ecological Climate Change Funding and Management Commission has acknowledged the Senate’s clearance of several career and non-career ambassadors-designate recently approved for diplomatic appointments.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Blessing Agbomhere, the Senate’s action was described as a confirmation of the suitability of the nominees for the roles.
Those cleared include Oduma Yvonne Ehinose, Wasa Shogun Ige, Engr. Abbas Braimah, Ogbonnaya Kalu (SAN), Reno Omokri, Femi Fani-Kayode, among others.
The Commission notes that the nominations, made by President Bola Tinubu, followed the nominees’ previous public and professional engagements, adding that their appointments come at a time when Nigeria’s international relations and global engagement remain significant.
According to the statement, the Commission expects the ambassadors-designate to uphold Nigeria’s diplomatic standards and contribute to advancing the country’s interests abroad, particularly in areas such as international cooperation, economic development, climate action, and environmental sustainability.
The ambassadors-designate are expected to assume their respective postings following the completion of other required formalities.
