President Donald Trump has threatened legal action against comedian Trevor Noah following a joke at the 68th Grammy Awards.
After congratulating Billie Eilish on her Song of the Year win for Wildflower, Noah referenced Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
He quipped: “Wow. That’s a Grammy that every artist wants—almost as much as Trump wants Greenland…since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Trump responded on his social media platform Truth Social, calling the Grammys “the WORST and virtually unwatchable” and saying Noah’s comments were “false and defamatory.”
He added he has never visited Epstein’s island and branded Noah a “total loser” who needs to “get his facts straight.”
The former president concluded: “I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless dope of an M.C. … Get ready, Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
Noah, who announced this would be his final year hosting the Grammys after six turns as emcee, has generally kept his political commentary light in previous years.
