The Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, has praised the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, for spearheading what he described as a remarkable transformation of volleyball in Nigeria.
Sanusi made the commendation on Friday in Abuja after witnessing an electrifying match at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, where Life Camp Volleyball Club battled to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ajase Ipo VC (17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11).
Reflecting on the sport’s steady progress, Sanusi said Nimrod’s visible commitment to the game comes as no surprise to those who understand his long-standing connection to volleyball.
According to him, the federation has continued to gain admiration and credibility under Nimrod’s leadership, anchored on purposeful administration and an unmistakable passion for the sport.
He noted that Nimrod’s deep roots in volleyball have proven to be a significant asset, helping to foster stability, growth and renewed enthusiasm across the country.
Sanusi also highlighted the NVBF president’s engineering background as a key factor in the federation’s advancement, explaining that it has brought structure, strategic direction and innovation into volleyball administration — elements he believes have accelerated the sport’s nationwide development.
Tracing Nimrod’s journey, Sanusi recalled that his involvement in volleyball dates back to his postgraduate years at the University of Ibadan, where he played competitively.
Beyond his playing career, Nimrod also taught the sport at both Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and degree levels, equipping him with strong technical expertise and academic insight.
With such a blend of experience and leadership, Sanusi expressed confidence that Nigerian volleyball is on a promising path, gaining momentum and positioning itself for even greater achievements in the years ahead.
