The Director General, National Institute for Sports (NIS), Philip Shaibu, has extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim faithful across Nigeria and beyond, calling on Nigerians to embrace unity, love, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence.
In a heartfelt goodwill message released to mark the celebration, Shaibu described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred season that reflects the virtues of faith, obedience, devotion, compassion, and selflessness, values he said remain essential for national growth and harmony.
According to him, the significance of the festival goes beyond religion, as it serves as a reminder to all Nigerians, irrespective of faith or ethnicity, of the need to promote tolerance, understanding, and service to humanity.
The former Edo State Deputy Governor prayed for peace, joy, good health, and abundant blessings for Muslim families celebrating the festival, while also asking Almighty Allah to continue granting Nigeria stability, unity, and progress.
Shaibu stressed that the country’s current realities demand collective reflection and renewed commitment towards nation-building, noting that Nigeria can only attain greatness when citizens place national interest above ethnic, political, and religious differences.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting efforts aimed at strengthening peace, national unity, and development, while also backing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards building a more secure, prosperous, and inclusive nation.
“At this critical time in our nation’s history, we must reject division, hatred, and intolerance, and instead embrace love, understanding, and patriotism in the spirit of One Nigeria,” Shaibu stated.
He further expressed hope that the Eid-el-Kabir celebration would renew hope in the hearts of Nigerians and reinforce the bond of unity among citizens across the country.
He concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyful Eid Mubarak celebration.
