The Federal Government has intensified its push for financial transparency and accountability with the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and 20 other federal agencies committing to the adoption of the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt (FTe-R).

The initiative, designed to curb financial leakages and strengthen real-time revenue tracking, is part of the government’s broader reform agenda aimed at improving fiscal discipline across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, disclosed this after a meeting in Abuja between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and chief executives of the affected agencies.

According to him, NEPZA is already positioning itself for full compliance, citing its existing digital financial systems as an advantage in aligning with the new platform.

The Federal Executive Council had earlier approved the Revenue Optimisation Platform as part of efforts to eliminate financial fraud, enhance accountability, and ensure comprehensive tracking of government revenue and expenditure.

Speaking through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Muhammed Sanusi, the Minister reiterated that the platform is central to ongoing fiscal reforms, noting that 31 MDAs have already gone live while 21 additional agencies are being onboarded.

He urged agency heads to fully embrace the system, stressing that the administration is targeting complete financial probity across all government institutions before the end of the year.

Dr. Ogunyemi described the initiative as a significant step toward strengthening public financial management, adding that NEPZA remains committed to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda through compliance and digital integration.
