Top policymakers, financial experts and business leaders from across Africa are meeting in Abuja to discuss ways to strengthen emerging economies amid growing global uncertainty.

The seventh African Emerging Markets Forum is taking place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters.

The forum has the theme: “Building Resilience Amidst Geoeconomic Uncertainties.”

Participants will examine global and domestic market volatility, investment opportunities and ways to expand financial inclusion across Africa.

CBN Governor, Oluyemi Cardoso, is attending the meeting alongside National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and Nigeria Revenue Service Chairman, Zacch Adedeji.

The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is also expected to participate.

In his welcome address, CBN Deputy Governor for Corporate Services, Muhammad Abdullahi, said global economic pressures continue to affect emerging markets.

However, he noted that the challenges also create opportunities for African countries to improve fiscal and monetary policies.

The forum brings together policymakers and finance experts to explore practical strategies for building stronger and more resilient economies.
