The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has congratulated the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) following the country’s historic victory at the 2026 U-18 Boys’ African Nations Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt.
In a letter dated July 30, 2026, CAVB President, Bouchra Hajji, commended the leadership of the federation under Engineer Musa Nimrod for steering Nigeria to its first continental title at the championship.
Hajji described the triumph as a reward for the federation’s commitment, discipline and sustained investment in youth development, noting that emerging champions in such a highly competitive tournament was a remarkable feat.
She extended her congratulations to the NVBF board, the coaching crew, support staff and the players, whose outstanding performances powered Nigeria to African glory.
According to the CAVB president, the title-winning campaign reflects the strength of Nigeria’s grassroots and youth development programmes, as well as the federation’s long-term vision for the growth of volleyball in the country.
Hajji added that Nigeria’s commitment to nurturing young talents is setting a standard for other nations on the continent and contributing significantly to the development of the sport in Africa.
She further expressed confidence that the current crop of players would go on to achieve greater success on both the continental and global stages, while urging the federation to build on its latest achievement.
The CAVB chief concluded by wishing the Nigeria Volleyball Federation continued success and expressed optimism that the newly crowned champions would inspire the next generation of volleyball stars across Africa.
