First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the traditional title of Oso Di Eme I of Imo State.
The title is announced in a post on X by the First Lady’s Senior Special Adviser on Media, Busola Kukoyi, on Wednesday.
Kukoyi said the title, which she translated as “she who supports her husband,” recognises the First Lady’s role as a partner to President Bola Tinubu in the administration of the country.
She wrote: “Oso Di Eme I of Imo State, meaning ‘She who supports her husband.’ A worthy partner of her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. As he’s working, she is working.”
Photographs released by the aide showed the First Lady dressed in colourful traditional attire featuring APC symbols and Nigerian flag motifs.
She also wore a red headwrap and coral beads while holding a ceremonial fan inscribed “OSO DI EME” and a white horsetail flywhisk.
The conferment took place during the First Lady’s visit to Imo State, where she was received by traditional rulers.
The honour comes months after she was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Ugosimba I of Enugu in June 2026.
The Enugu title, which translates as “Jewel of Empowerment” in Igbo, was conferred in recognition of her efforts towards women’s empowerment and social development across the country.
