African policymakers, central bankers and development experts will gather are set to explore strategies for strengthening the continent’s economies against growing global economic uncertainty.
This will take place at the 7th Africa Emerging Markets Forum opens on Wednesday at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Headquarters in Abuja under the theme, “Building Resilience Amidst Geoeconomic Uncertainties.”

A statement on Sunday by the bank says a major highlight will be a fireside dialogue between CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso and World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
The session will examine how African economies can build resilience, sustain reform momentum, deepen regional integration and unlock long-term growth amid an increasingly fragmented global economy.
The forum will also feature keynote addresses by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Kingsley Udeh.

According to the organisers, the forum aims to promote open dialogue on issues affecting emerging markets, strengthen regional cooperation and identify practical policy solutions that support sustainable and inclusive economic growth across Africa.
Over the two-day event, participants will discuss macroeconomic stability, regional economic integration, cross-border payments, financial technology, infrastructure, foreign direct investment, technology transfer and artificial intelligence.
The discussions will also focus on food price volatility, inflation and monetary policy transmission in fragile and post-crisis economies, with participants expected to develop policy responses to strengthen Africa’s economic resilience.
