Governor Dikko Radda has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State for the 2027 general election following his endorsement by party delegates.

The affirmation ceremony, held at the Katsina People’s Square on Thursday, saw 2,835 delegates unanimously endorse Radda’s bid for a second term in office.

Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Yakubu Machido, formally presented the governor before party members, declaring him the APC consensus candidate after emerging unopposed.

Speaking at the event, APC National Vice Chairman for the North-West, Muhammad Garba, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the unity within the party.

Former Katsina State governor and Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Committee, Aminu Masari, commended party members for maintaining peace and urged all aspirants and stakeholders to remain united ahead of the 2027 elections.

“It’s like an arrow; once it is drawn, you must ensure that the target is achieved,” Masari said while urging members to focus on securing victory for all APC candidates.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Radda thanked delegates, party leaders, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring residents that he would continue to work for the development of the state.

He also called for continued support for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The event was attended by top APC officials, lawmakers, local government chairmen, members of the State Executive Council, women and youth groups, as well as party elders and stakeholders from across the state.
