CGC Volleyball : CNS, NSCDC Lead the Charge on Days 8 and 9

The third edition of the CGC Volleyball Premier League continued to produce exciting contests in Abuja, with top teams recording crucial victories as the first phase of the competition gathered momentum.

In the men’s category, CNS Spikers strengthened their campaign with a commanding 3-1 victory over Life Camp VC on Day 8 before following it up with another impressive 3-1 win against COAS Spikers on Day 9. Defence Spikers also maintained their strong form, defeating Kano Pillars and later overcoming Nigeria Police Force 3-1.

Nigeria Customs Service cruised past UCEM VC in straight sets, while Ajase Ipo dispatched Sunshine Spikers before falling to Life Camp VC in four sets the following day. Kano Pillars produced one of the biggest comebacks of the tournament, rallying from two sets down to edge UCEM VC 3-2.

Offa VC rebounded from a Day 8 loss to Nigeria Police Force with a convincing straight-sets victory over Sunshine Spikers, while NSCDC secured a 3-1 triumph over Nigeria Correctional Service.

In the women’s competition, Nigeria Customs Service underlined their title credentials with back-to-back straight-set victories over Anambra Queens and NAF Rockets. NSCDC staged a remarkable comeback from two sets down to defeat COAS Spikers 3-2 in one of the most thrilling matches of Day 9.

VIP & Partners continued their impressive run with wins over COAS Spikers and Excelsior VC, while Fire Service defeated Benue Queens 3-1 in another entertaining encounter. Olalomi Royal Angels also produced a dramatic five-set comeback to overcome Anambra Queens after losing the opening two sets.

With several teams building momentum and others battling to stay in contention, the race for honours at the 3rd CGC Volleyball Premier League remains wide open as the first phase in Abuja approaches its decisive stages.
