Customs Edge CNS in Five-Set Thriller on Day 12 of CGC Volleyball League

Day 12 of the 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League (1st phase) in Abuja produced a feast of action-packed matches, with teams battling fiercely for crucial points in both the men’s and women’s categories.

Fans were treated to a mix of dominant straight-set victories, nerve-racking five-set thrillers, and surprising upsets that kept the championship’s momentum alive.
In the men’s category, Correctional Service set the tone with a solid 3-1 victory over UCEM (25-18, 25-17, 19-25, 25-23). Nigerian Air Force (NAF) engaged in a pulsating five-set contest against Offa VC but narrowly lost 2-3 (29-27, 19-25, 25-21, 20-25, 13-15), while Kano Pillars also fell in another five-set thriller to Police 2-3 (22-25, 25-15, 25-19, 22-25, 8-15).

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) made a statement with a commanding 3-0 sweep of COAS Spikers (25-21, 25-21, 26-24), while Customs held their nerves in a gripping decider to edge CNS 3-2 (19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 20-25, 21-19). Rounding off the day, Kada Stars impressed with a clean 3-0 win over Sunshine Spikers (25-18, 25-20, 25-22).
The women’s division was no less exciting, as CNS overpowered NAF in straight sets 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-16), while defending champions Nigeria Customs demolished Wikki Spikers 3-0 (25-6, 25-15, 25-11) in a dominant display.

NSCDC continued their unbeaten streak with another straight-sets victory over COAS Spikers 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-22). Anambra Queens picked up a morale-boosting 3-1 win against Benue Queens (25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 25-18), and Kada Angels outclassed Olalomi Queens 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21).

With each passing day, the CGC Volleyball Premier League continues to deliver high-octane drama, keeping fans on edge as teams jostle for supremacy in Abuja.
