DG NILDS Mourns Former UNILORIN Vice Chancellor, Prof Ambali

The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, has expressed grief over the death of former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Media Aide, Mohammad Abdulkadri, Prof. Sulaiman describe the late academic as a man of exceptional character who lived a life of honesty, humility, simplicity, and piety despite his outstanding achievements as a globally respected scholar.

According to the NILDS Director-General, Prof. Ambali’s life is defined by academic excellence and distinguished service, qualities that earned him recognition as both an accomplished scholar and an effective administrator.

Prof. Sulaiman note that the former Vice-Chancellor’s visionary leadership inspired a new generation of academics who continue to build on his legacy, a testament to the impact and fulfilment of his life’s work.

The former Minister of National Planning say Prof. Ambali’s contributions to education and scholarship would remain a lasting source of inspiration to future generations.

He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, admit him among the righteous in paradise, and grant his family, friends, and associates the strength to bear the loss.
