Edo Queens have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership after playing out a hard-fought goalless draw against Bayelsa Queens to seal the title.
The Benin City side’s disciplined campaign earned them the league crown and reaffirmed their status among Nigeria’s elite women’s football clubs. The triumph also hands Edo Queens a place in the WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers, where they will compete for a ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Head coach Moses Aduku secured his second NWFL Premiership title, guiding the “Ada Bendel” to another memorable domestic success through consistency and resilience throughout the season.

The league also celebrated its standout individual performers. FC Robo Queens midfielder Adegbuyi Oluwakemi was named the NWFL Player of the Season after a string of influential displays that highlighted her creativity and leadership in midfield.
Abia Angels goalkeeper Fatima Oloko claimed the Golden Glove award, with her outstanding performances proving vital for her side across the campaign and earning recognition as the league’s best shot-stopper.
Meanwhile, Rivers Angels received the Fair Play Award in acknowledgement of their exemplary discipline, professionalism and sportsmanship both on and off the pitch.
With the domestic season concluded, attention now turns to continental competition as Edo Queens aim to carry their impressive form onto the African stage.
