Eid-el-Maulud: Wike Calls for Peace, Unity in FCT

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has urged residents to promote peace, tolerance and unity as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Maulud.

In a message marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad, Wike said the occasion offers an opportunity to reflect on values such as compassion, patience, sacrifice and fellowship.

He advised residents to embrace dialogue and resolve disagreements peacefully, stressing that the FCT was founded on principles of unity, diversity and tolerance.

Wike also urged residents to apply these values in their daily interactions and build stronger relationships across religious and ethnic lines.

The minister assured residents and visitors that the FCT Administration would maintain adequate security during the celebration and beyond.

On security, he called on residents to cooperate with security agencies and provide useful information that could help prevent threats and protect communities.

Wike wished Muslim faithful and other residents a peaceful Eid-el-Maulud celebration and prayed for continued progress and prosperity in the FCT and Nigeria.
