FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND ORGANISED LABOUR AGREE ON SEVENTY THOUSAND NAIRA AS MINIMUM WAGE FOR WORKERS.

Federal Government and the organized labour have agreed on seventy thousand Naira as the new National Minimum Wage.

This was the outcome of the latest meeting between President Bola Tinubu and leadership of the organised labour, which took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The sum of sixty thousand naira was first suggested by the government during a meetingĀ  late Monday.

During the meeting the Federal Government of Nigeria was represented by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha and, Minister of State for Labour and Employment.

 

While the Organised Labour was represented by Joe Ajaero, President, Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and Festus Osifo, President, Trade Union Congress TUC.
