Nigeria’s aviation industry has received a boost with the launch of Binani Air, a new airline founded by female aviation entrepreneur Aminatu Dahiru Chiroma.
The Abuja-based airline is set to commence operations soon, with its inaugural flight scheduled for next week, according to a statement signed by the company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Arit Effanga.
Chiroma, the Chief Executive Officer of Binani Air, is a seasoned entrepreneur who manages a diversified business portfolio spanning printing and construction. She was recognised as “Abuja’s Most Outstanding CEO for Printing Innovation” in 2021 for her contributions to the sector.
Describing the development as a transition “from vision to operation,” the airline said it is now ready to welcome its first set of passengers as ticket sales open to the public.
Speaking on the milestone, Chiroma said the commencement of ticket sales marks a defining moment for the airline and signals its readiness to deliver a new standard of air travel in Nigeria.
“Opening our ticket sales is a defining moment for us. It is the point at which our commitment becomes real for the travelling public. From this moment, we are not just preparing to fly—we are preparing to serve,” she said.
She added that the airline is built on the principles of reliability, safety, and respect for passengers’ time, noting that Binani Air enters the market with a strong focus on consistency and operational discipline.
