INEC Begins PVC Collection, Voter Register Display in FCT

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the display of the Register of Voters and collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The exercise covers all 62 Registration Area Centres in the FCT and will end on Thursday, October 15, 2026, according to a public notice signed by Mrs Abimbola Oladunjoye on behalf of the FCT Resident Electoral Commissioner.

INEC said the exercise would continue at the six area council offices from October 16.

The commission urged registrants to verify their details, confirm their polling units, raise objections to the inclusion of ineligible voters and collect outstanding PVCs.

However, INEC clarified that PVCs for the 2026 Continuous Voter Registration exercise were not yet available. It said it would notify registrants when the cards were ready for collection.

INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan had earlier announced that PVC distribution would begin on October 9, 2026. He also said the commission was strengthening its technology to prevent unauthorised use of stolen, lost or compromised voter cards.
