The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced online accreditation for journalists and media organisations seeking to cover the Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for August.
In a statement posted on its official platforms on Tuesday, the electoral body urged interested media organisations planning to deploy journalists for the election to begin the application process without delay.
INEC disclosed that the accreditation window will remain open for four weeks, stressing that applications must be submitted within the stipulated period.
The Commission warned that no late submissions would be accepted, noting that the accreditation portal will automatically close at midnight on the final day of the exercise.
The move is part of INEC’s preparations to ensure seamless media coverage of the governorship election, while promoting transparency and public access to the electoral process.
