Musa Dismisses Resignation Rumours

By Mardiyyah Abubakar

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has dismissed reports alleging that he is planning to resign from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, describing the claims as false, fabricated and intended to mislead the public.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Leah Babatunde, the minister says the report circulating on online and social media platforms was entirely baseless and did not reflect reality.

The statement reaffirms Musa’s unwavering commitment to the Tinubu administration, stressing that he remains focused on strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture and implementing the government’s defence and national security agenda.

“We wish to state unequivocally and in the strongest possible terms that these rumours are absolute falsehood borne out of complete mischief,” the statement said.

It added that the minister remains fully dedicated to his responsibilities and continues to work closely with relevant security agencies to address the country’s security challenges.

The ministry urges Nigerians to disregard the misinformation and rely only on official communication for accurate information.

It also called on media organisations and social media users to verify claims with the Office of the Minister before publishing or sharing reports capable of misleading the public.
