The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and leading development partners have launched the Inclusive Insurance Innovation Challenge (IIIC) Nigeria 2025 to expand insurance access for underserved communities.
NAICOM’s Head of Innovation, Kenneth Aroh, said in a statement that the programme will support innovators with mentorship, regulatory guidance and technical backing to develop inclusive, market-ready insurance solutions.

According to him, the 2025 edition is sponsored by Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSDA), hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and supported by NAICOM and the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Aroh added that preparations have begun for the 2026 edition—IIIC Nigeria 2.0—which will further widen participation across insurers, InsurTech firms, public agencies, private-sector players and donors.
The Challenge aims to strengthen Nigeria’s insurance landscape and ensure vulnerable groups are not left without adequate risk protection.
