The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has expressed condolences to the families of 25 military personnel who lost their lives in a plane crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on October 5, 2026.

Adegbite described the incident as a tragic loss to the Nigerian Air Force and the country, extending his sympathies to the bereaved families and colleagues of the deceased.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Commission’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka, the NCPC chief also commiserated with President Bola Tinubu and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, over the incident.

He called on the Federal Government to ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to prevent a recurrence.

Adegbite prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased personnel and asked God to grant their families, friends and colleagues the strength to bear the loss.

He also urged serving military personnel not to be discouraged by the tragedy but to remain committed to their duties and the service of the nation.

The NCPC boss said the sacrifices of military personnel in the defence of the country would not be in vain.
