The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has urged Muslims to promote peace, love and national unity as they celebrate Eid-el-Maulid.
In a statement issued in Abuja, by the commission’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka, Adegbite urges Muslim faithful to emulate the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
He described the celebration as an opportunity for spiritual reflection and self-examination, admonishing Muslims to consider how the Prophet’s exemplary life could guide their actions.
Beyond the celebration, Adegbite encouraged the faithful to deepen their knowledge of the Prophet and his teachings, describing him as a model for humanity.
As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, he also urged Muslims to pray for President Bola Tinubu and other leaders.
Adegbite expressed optimism that the elections would be peaceful and that the will of God would prevail.
Meanwhile, he called on Muslim clerics to provide sound spiritual guidance and continue promoting peace among their followers.
He urged Muslims to uphold peace, love, harmony, dialogue and patriotism, stressing that these values remain essential to national unity and development.
