The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee has directed the entire technical crew of the Super Falcons to step down with immediate effect following the team’s disappointing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign.
The federation announced the decision on Monday in a brief statement on its official social media platforms, saying the Executive Committee had asked members of the Super Falcons technical crew to vacate their positions immediately.
The development follows Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, marking the first time the nine-time African champions will miss the tournament since its inception in 1991.
The decision comes amid growing concerns over the team’s tactics, squad selection, player management and overall technical direction during the WAFCON campaign in Morocco.
With the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers scheduled to begin in October, the NFF now faces the urgent task of appointing a new technical team and ensuring the Super Falcons return to a competitive path.
The federation is expected to provide further details on the decision and announce its next steps in rebuilding the national team.
