Nigeria has secured major representation in the newly reconstituted Standing Committees of the African Beach Soccer Union following resolutions reached at the ABSU 2026 Annual General Meeting.
The restructuring is aimed at strengthening governance, improving operations, and accelerating the growth of beach soccer across Africa.
Several Nigerians were appointed into strategic committees, reflecting the country’s growing influence in the administration of the sport on the continent.
Nigerians Appointed Into Key Committees
The Technical Committee includes Abdullahi Isa and Sunday Okayi.
Mojeed Adegbindin was named into the Competitions Committee, while Allison Jegede and Florence Yori joined the Women and Youth Development Committee.
The Sponsorship and Marketing Committee features Musa Nimrod, Chidi J. Myles and Abdullahi Yahaya.
In the Media and Communication Committee are Nasir Auwal, Oluwaseun Oyediji and Busayo Olowookere.
The Finance Committee includes Victor Madubuko, Francis Awoefe and Abubakar Umar Barde.
Nigeria Retains Secretariat Positions
Nigeria also retained key leadership positions within the ABSU Secretariat.
Taye Olajide remains General Secretary, while Ola Rasheed Saraki continues as Administration Secretary.
ABSU President Speaks
ABSU President, Mahmud Hadejia described the reconstitution as a major step toward building a stronger and more sustainable beach soccer structure across Africa.
According to him, the committees will focus on governance, grassroots development, competitions, sponsorship, media visibility, and women and youth participation.
ABSU also announced the introduction of a Development Tracker and upgraded reporting systems to improve transparency and coordination among member nations.
With strong representation across key committees and the Secretariat, Nigeria is expected to play a leading role in the future development of beach soccer in Africa.
