The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to leveraging digital platforms to provide Nigerians with timely, accurate, and verified information on government policies, programmes, and activities.

The Director-General made this known while receiving a delegation from the National Digital Command and Policy Intelligence (NDCPI) at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

According to Issa-Onilu, the Agency is strengthening its digital communication strategy to combat misinformation, counter false narratives, and improve public access to credible information through innovative technology.

As part of this effort, he disclosed that the Agency has developed CLHEEAN, an Artificial Intelligence-powered platform designed to monitor emerging public issues and provide citizens with factual and reliable information in real time.

The Director-General also expressed NOA’s readiness to collaborate with the National Digital Command and Policy Intelligence, noting that the partnership would enhance data-driven decision-making, improve multilingual communication, strengthen civic engagement, and provide timely responses to emerging national issues.

Speaking during the meeting, the Team Lead of the National Digital Command and Policy Intelligence and Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Otega Ogra, commended the transformation taking place within the National Orientation Agency under the leadership of Mallam Issa-Onilu.

He also revealed plans by the NDCPI to establish digital content studios across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) nationwide to improve government communication and public engagement.

As part of the visit, the Director-General conducted the delegation on a tour of the Agency’s television studios and public enlightenment production facilities, showcasing NOA’s capacity to deliver strategic communication and public awareness campaigns.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both organisations to strengthening collaboration through digital innovation, promoting accurate information, combating fake news, and fostering greater trust between government and citizens.

The National Orientation Agency says it will continue to deploy technology-driven communication platforms to ensure Nigerians have real-time access to credible information while promoting national values, civic responsibility, and active citizen engagement.
