The 2026 Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) National Division One and Two League intensified in Abuja on Match Days 10 and 11, with teams recording crucial victories as the race for promotion and honours gathers momentum.
In the women’s Division One category, debutants NY Spikers continued their impressive debut campaign with back-to-back wins to remain one of the standout teams in the competition.
On Match Day 10, NY Spikers defeated Caliphate Spikers in straight sets, winning 25-11, 25-16, 25-17 to underline their growing title ambitions. Plateau Queens also impressed with a commanding 3-0 victory over ACE Spikers, securing set scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-13.
NY Spikers were pushed to the limit on Match Day 11 by Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in a thrilling five-set encounter. After losing the opening set 20-25, they recovered to win the second 25-22 before NIS took the third 25-19. NY Spikers responded again with a 25-23 fourth-set win and sealed a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory with a 15-10 win in the decider.
In the men’s Division One category, Katsina United came from behind to defeat Adamawa Spikers 3-1 on Match Day 10, while Light Spikers secured a solid 3-1 win over NIS Spikers.
Match Day 11 produced further action as Sword Volleyball Club defeated Katsina United 3-0, with scores of 25-21, 25-21, 27-25. Rhino Spikers overcame Adamawa Spikers 3-1, while NAF Rockets staged a comeback win over NIS Spikers, also by 3-1.
Light Spikers continued their strong form with a straight-sets victory over Kada Kings, winning 25-20, 25-23, 25-18 to maintain momentum in the league.
With the competition entering a decisive phase, every point is becoming crucial as teams battle for promotion, qualification, and national recognition in both divisions.
