The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the August 15, 2026, Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to introduce interest-free loans and regular grants for traders, artisans and small business owners if elected governor.
Oyebamiji made the promise during an endorsement rally organised by market leaders and traders at Igbonna Market in Osogbo.
He said his administration would expand access to finance for small businesses through policies designed to strengthen entrepreneurship and boost economic growth across the state.
The APC candidate also promised to modernise markets by upgrading infrastructure, improving security and creating a more business-friendly environment.
He said artisans and other small-scale entrepreneurs would benefit from targeted empowerment programmes, while government would prioritise the protection of lives and property to encourage investment and commercial activities.
Speaking on their behalf, the Babaloja General of Osun State, Chief David Iyiola, represented by the Otun Babaloja of Igbonna Market, Chief Muideen Ajao, said the traders backed Oyebamiji because of his leadership experience and commitment to economic development.
Oyebamiji thanked the traders for their endorsement, describing it as a vote of confidence in his vision for Osun State.
He expressed optimism that the growing support from market associations and other stakeholders would translate into victory for the APC in the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
The endorsement rally attracted hundreds of traders who pledged to mobilise support for the APC candidate.
