FC Robo Queens stole the spotlight on Matchday 16 of the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership, securing a crucial 1-0 victory over Remo Stars Ladies in Lagos to seal their place in the Super Six.
Rafiu Tosin’s composed finish just before halftime proved decisive in the Southwest derby, confirming Robo’s qualification and marking a significant milestone in their campaign.
Elsewhere, in Aba, Ahudiyannem Queens recorded a solid 2-0 win against Dannaz Ladies, with Mary Lucky converting from the penalty spot before Tobi Oghenerugba doubled the advantage in the second half. In the same city, Abia Angels boosted their Super Six hopes with a late 2-0 victory over Delta Queens, as Funmilayo Adefuye and Miracle Usani struck within two minutes to secure maximum points.
In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons delivered one of the standout performances of the round, thrashing Confluence Queens 4-0. Ayatsea Hembafan’s early brace set the tone, while Omotoke Ogunfuwa and Osinachi Ugbala added further gloss to a dominant display that keeps them firmly in contention.
In Owerri, Heartland Queens claimed a notable 2-1 win over Rivers Angels, racing to a two-goal lead through Monica Matthew and Oluebube Umejiaku before Grace Saliu reduced the deficit for the visitors.
At Yenagoa, Bayelsa Queens maintained their dominance with a 2-0 victory over Adamawa Queens. Sofiat Bankole opened the scoring before Delight Isaac sealed the win late on, confirming their position as Group A leaders.
In Ibadan, Pacesetter Queens and Edo Queens played out a goalless draw, while Ekiti Queens secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Ibom Angels thanks to goals from Odun Olaleye and Joke Adeyemo.
Meanwhile, in Akure, Sunshine Queens produced a commanding performance to defeat Osun Babes 3-0, with Moyinoluwa Owolabi, Toyin Oyewale, and Bunmi Adenuga all getting on the scoresheet.
With Group A already settled—featuring Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, and Edo Queens—the focus now shifts to Group B, where FC Robo Queens have joined the Super Six lineup. The battle for the remaining slots remains intense, with Nasarawa Amazons, Abia Angels, and Remo Stars Ladies all still in contention as the league heads toward a dramatic finish.
