The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Philip Shaibu, has inaugurated a high-powered committee to review the Institute’s achievements over the past year
This will equally assess progress on its 10-year strategic work plan, alongside planning activities to mark his first anniversary in office.
The committee is tasked with evaluating milestones recorded, challenges encountered, and the overall implementation of the Institute’s strategic roadmap aimed at repositioning the National Institute for Sports into a leading hub for sports development, research, and training.
Performance Measurement
Shaibu stressed that the exercise is anchored on accountability and performance measurement, noting that the findings would guide future policies and programme direction within the Institute.
The committee is chaired by the Bursar of the Institute, Nyakno Oluokun, while Dr. Maryam Nasko, Head of Administration, serves as Secretary. Dr. Remu Majoroh, a Consultant, is the Technical Coordinator.
Other Members
Other members include the Registrar, Aisha; renowned football coach, Ladan Bosso; Madaki; and media aide Ben Ogbemudia.
The committee is expected to submit its report within a stipulated timeframe, detailing a comprehensive performance assessment .
They are to also recommend improved delivery and a structured plan for the anniversary celebration.
