Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore says his administration will not establish an office for the First Lady if he wins the 2027 presidential election.
Sowore made the statement on national Television, arguing that the position of First Lady is not recognised by the Nigerian Constitution.
He said his wife would not hold any official position by virtue of his presidency, however, he added that women would still have a voice in his administration.
Sowore also said his administration would seek to cut the cost of governance, including ending security votes for state governors, which he said would require constitutional changes.
