President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 officials to lead 10 federal agencies and commissions, in a major reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance across critical sectors of the economy.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced on Monday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Among the key appointments, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose is named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), while retired Major General Junaid Bindawa was appointed Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
The REA board also includes Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Makinta as non-executive directors, alongside the agency’s Director-General, Abba Aliyu, and three executive directors.
For the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Tinubu appoint former lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas as Secretary, with Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun, Yakubu Barde, Dr Mai Adamu Yau, Ginika Tor, Engineer Lawrence Okoh and Bello Iyabode serving as commissioners and members.
In another move, Tosin Adeyanju is redeployed from the National Lottery Trust Fund to become Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
The President also name Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET), and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Also appointed was Engineer Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing the late Dr A.R. Kamal.
Tinubu further constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Dr Abdullahi Saidu as chairman alongside Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola as members.
In the education sector, Shuni Dahiru was named Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, while Gisaor Iorja became Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to pursue the Benue State governorship.
The Presidency said the appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to strengthening key public institutions and ensuring effective service delivery across strategic sectors.
