Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has approved a waiver of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) fees for the Nigerian Law School Bwari campus.
Wike announced the decision during a meeting with the Director-General of the school, Olugbemisola Odusote, who led a delegation to his office in Abuja on Thursday April 23, 2026.
The minister directed the Land Administration Department to process and deliver the Certificate of Occupancy within one week.
He said many government institutions still operate without proper land documentation and stressed that ongoing reforms aim to correct the gap.
The waiver will ease administrative bottlenecks and help the institution secure legal ownership of its land.
Wike also approved the construction of 10 additional housing units for staff, which adds to ongoing projects at the campus, including staff quarters and new student hostels.
He further pledged to support the digitisation of the school’s operations, advising the management to work with relevant FCT authorities to move from manual processes to digital systems for efficient service delivery.
The intervention forms part of broader efforts to strengthen legal education infrastructure and improve learning conditions for students.
In her response, Odusote commended the minister’s support and said similar interventions have improved facilities across other campuses of the Nigerian Law School.
