The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding high labour standards, prioritising staff welfare, and strengthening institutional stability, noting that a motivated workforce remains key to its effectiveness.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Commission said it has sustained deliberate reforms since the current leadership assumed office, focusing on improving working conditions, enhancing internal processes, and fostering a transparent and supportive work environment.
NAICOM highlighted notable progress in staff training, capacity development, career advancement, and workplace improvements. It added that its performance-based promotion system continues to reward merit, productivity, and professionalism.
Reiterating its human resource policies, the Commission emphasised that all promotion exercises strictly adhere to public service rules, guided by clear, objective, and verifiable criteria, with no room for bias or favouritism.
The agency further underscored its commitment to discipline, integrity, equity, and non-discrimination across all levels, stressing that staff welfare remains central to its reform agenda.
While encouraging employees to utilise established internal grievance and communication channels, NAICOM cautioned against actions capable of disrupting operations or eroding public confidence.
The Commission also disclosed that a recent attempt by certain individuals to undermine its leadership through external influence was unsuccessful, noting that staff firmly rejected the move and remained committed to due process and professionalism.
According to NAICOM, the situation has been resolved, with normal operations fully restored. The Commission assured stakeholders of uninterrupted services and continued adherence to global best practices in insurance regulation and supervision.
It reaffirmed its resolve to maintain a harmonious, transparent, and productive work environment in service to the Nigerian public.
