The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), FCT Command, has strengthened its community policing drive with the decoration and confirmation of prominent Nigerians as Patrons and Matrons at a colourful ceremony held in Abuja.

The event, which took place recently brought together influential figures from business, faith, governance, and civil society—underscoring growing collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and key stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory.

Among those honoured were Solademi Oladimeji, Chief Executive Officer of Yajifarz & Son Limited; Dr. Achimugu Sulaiman, CEO of Felak Concept Group; and Kasim Ikwa, Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council.

Others decorated included Ambassador Dr. Aisha Lemu, Founder-President of the Major General Salihu Musa Lemu Memorial Foundation; Apostle Precious Ohiwerei; Lawal Victoria; and Rev. Module Kappo.

In his remarks, the Chairman of PCRC FCT Command, Dr. Rufus Ebegba, highlighted the committee’s mandate in strengthening trust and cooperation between the police and the public. He noted that the PCRC continues to serve as a critical bridge for intelligence sharing, community engagement, and crime prevention support.

He explained that the initiative aligns with modern policing strategies that emphasize collaboration, vigilance, and shared responsibility in maintaining security.

Speaking after his decoration, Solademi expressed appreciation for the recognition, pledging continued commitment to fostering a strong and lawful partnership between the public and the Nigeria Police Force.

Solademi, who is also the President of Air Warriors Basketball Club of Abuja, stressed that effective cooperation between citizens and security agencies remains key to building a safer society, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory.

The decoration of Patrons and Matrons, according to the PCRC, is both symbolic and strategic—designed to deepen community engagement, improve intelligence gathering, and strengthen conflict resolution mechanisms across communities.
