The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has praised Nigerian workers for their indispensable role in national development, describing them as the backbone of the country’s progress.
In a statement on Friday marking International Workers’ Day, Speaker Abbas commends the resilience, patriotism, and dedication of the nation’s workforce, particularly members of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress.
The Speaker reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare, safeguarding their rights, and ensuring safe working environments across the country.
He also called on labour unions to sustain constructive engagement with the government, urging dialogue as the preferred approach in addressing workplace and national issues.
Speaker Abbas extended his best wishes to Nigerian workers on the occasion of Labour Day.
