The Nigeria Super League delivered a day of high drama, explosive batting, and thrilling finishes on Match Day 2 at the TBS Cricket Oval in Lagos.
Fans were treated to two exciting encounters, featuring a one-run victory for Central Eagles and a dominant win for Southern Sharks.
In the first match, Central Eagles edged Eastern Elephants by just one run in a tense finish. Batting first, the Eagles posted 157/4 in 20 overs, powered by a brilliant 83 off 61 balls from wicketkeeper-batsman Selim Salau.

He was well supported by Mohammed Moshood, Emmanuel Boniface Oche, and Useni Prosper, who added late runs to strengthen the total.
Eastern Elephants came close in the chase, finishing on 156/9. Ipoli Victor led the fightback with a spirited 52 off 35 balls, taking the game to the final delivery, but Central Eagles held on under pressure to seal victory. Salau was named Player of the Match.
In the second game, Southern Sharks bounced back strongly with a 48-run win over Western Dolphins.
The Sharks posted 176/7 in 20 overs, with Isesele Odion Evangel leading the charge with a quick 54 off 31 balls. Kenneth Boniface added 47 off 25 balls, while Akhigbe Miracle contributed 28.
Despite two wickets each from Udekwe Chiemelie and Monday Elijah, Western Dolphins struggled to contain the Sharks’ batting attack.
Chasing 177, the Dolphins were restricted to 128/9 in 16.4 overs. Captain Vincent Adewoye top-scored with 35 off 21 balls, but regular wickets slowed their momentum.
Ayeni Precious and Ismail Abdullahi took two wickets each as the Sharks completed a convincing win. Evangel was named Player of the Match.
