The annual championship will feature leading men’s and women’s teams from across the country battling for national honours in what is expected to be one of the biggest domestic hockey events of the year.

Action begins on June 25 with the opening fixtures before the tournament enters the group stage from June 29 to July 2. The race for the title will intensify with the semi-finals on July 3, while the grand finale on July 5 will determine the champions in both categories.

Beyond the on-field action, organisers have also lined up a FIS Coaching Level 1 and 2 Course as well as an Umpiring Seminar scheduled for June 29 to July 4. The programmes are aimed at improving coaching expertise and enhancing officiating standards to support the long-term development of hockey in Nigeria.

With elite competition and capacity-building initiatives running simultaneously, the 2026 Hockey Super League is expected to further strengthen the sport’s growth and provide a platform for players, coaches, and officials to showcase their abilities.

As anticipation builds, Abuja is set to welcome hockey enthusiasts from across the country for what promises to be a thrilling celebration of the game.
