Nigeria’s U-18 boys’ volleyball team delivered another dominant performance at the 2026 African U-18 Volleyball Championship, sweeping aside Libya 3-0 to book a place in the semi-finals in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Nigerian side extended its unbeaten run with an emphatic 25-8, 25-14, 25-16 victory in the quarter-finals, underlining its status as one of the favourites for the continental title.
Having topped Pool A ahead of hosts Egypt, Burundi and Morocco, Nigeria wasted no time asserting its superiority against Libya, who qualified from Pool B.
Nigeria raced through the opening set 25-8 before comfortably taking the second 25-14.
The West Africans completed the straight-sets triumph with a 25-16 win in the third set to secure their place in the last four.
The victory sets up a mouth-watering semi-final clash against Cameroon, who also advanced with a 3-0 win over Burundi, claiming the sets 25-21, 25-12 and 25-18.
The winner of the Nigeria-Cameroon encounter will earn a place in the final of the championship, which is being held at the Pioneer Club in Alexandria from July 20 to 30.
Nigeria will now be aiming to maintain its flawless run as it closes in on a place in the continental final.
