Egypt has been confirmed as the host of the 2026 CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Senior Championships, with the prestigious tournament set to take place in Alexandria from August 17 to 23.
The championship will not only determine Africa’s beach volleyball champions but also serve as a key qualification event for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) announced the hosting rights on Wednesday, following the successful conclusion of the zonal qualifying tournaments.
Africa’s top men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams will converge on Alexandria to battle for continental supremacy and secure valuable Olympic qualification spots, making it one of the continent’s most significant volleyball events.
According to the competition schedule, participating delegations will arrive on August 17 for the Preliminary Inquiry and Technical Meeting, while matches will run from August 18 to 22 before teams depart on August 23.
CAVB has also called on all qualified National Federations to submit their Entry by Name forms and complete all registration requirements within the stipulated deadline to ensure seamless preparations for the championship.
With Olympic qualification at stake, the tournament is expected to deliver high-quality competition as Africa’s finest beach volleyball stars chase continental glory and move a step closer to realizing their dream of competing at the LA2028 Olympic Games.
