The Federal Government has congratulated Abelardo de la Espriella on his election as President-elect of Colombia ahead of his inauguration on August 7.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Nigeria said it welcomed the democratic expression of the will of the Colombian people.
The Federal Government said it looks forward to working closely with the incoming Colombian administration and strengthening bilateral relations.
Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation with Colombia in trade, investment, security and South-South collaboration.
The government also wished the President-elect success as he prepares to assume office and advance the progress and prosperity of the Colombian people.
