Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the constitution of a state government delegation to oversee the 2026 Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land in Israel.
The six-member delegation will be chaired by the Gubo Yungur, His Royal Majesty Johnson Diyo Matalo. Other members are Senator Rev. Amos Yohanna, Japhet Hammajabu, Samuel Chinda, Rev. Fr. Anselm Kachalla and Bartholomew Nyalas, who will serve as secretary.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri congratulates the appointees and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, discipline and patriotism.
Describing the appointment as both an honour and a responsibility, the governor charged the delegation to serve as worthy ambassadors of Adamawa State throughout the pilgrimage.
“You have been chosen to represent the government and good people of Adamawa State. This is both an honour and a responsibility,” Fintiri said.
He urges the committee to conduct itself with dignity and ensure that the pilgrimage is well coordinated and fulfils its spiritual purpose.
The governor also directed the delegation to work closely with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission and other relevant authorities to guarantee the welfare, safety and smooth movement of pilgrims from the state.
Fintiri further called on the members to justify the confidence reposed in them by maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the assignment.
He reaffirms his administration’s commitment to supporting religious activities that promote peace, unity and moral values across Adamawa State.
