The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has submitted an interim report to President Bola Tinubu on its investigation into the alleged fictitious Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The commission has also recommended the prosecution of the council’s alleged Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi.
ICPC Chairman, Musa Aliyu, disclosed this on Thursday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting came exactly 30 days after the President directed the anti-corruption agency to investigate the disputed PFIPC.
Aliyu said preliminary findings showed that Adeyemi was never appointed by the Federal Government.
He added that the purported appointment letter, gazette and other documents allegedly used to establish the PFIPC were forged.
The investigation centres on allegations of corruption, forgery and the creation of a government entity that the ICPC says may not have been legitimately established.
