Metro City Allstars recorded the biggest win of the day at the Abuja Veterans Invitational Tournament, thrashing NNPC Ltd Allstars 4–1 as Match Day 2 produced 11 goals.
Ex Professionals FC and Ibn Abbas Allstars played out a goalless draw, while Kuje Allstars and MC Steve FC shared the spoils in a thrilling 2–2 encounter. Lugbe Allstars also claimed a convincing 2–0 victory over Z Michael FC.
Attention now shifts to next Saturday, August 22, with four fixtures scheduled at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Likeminds Allstars will face Nyanya Allstars at 8:00 a.m., followed by Allstars Aleyita against Timeless Titans at 9:30 a.m. Karu Allstars take on Allstars International FC at 10:45 a.m., while Nurudeen Veterans FC battle Apo Fitness Club at 12:00 noon.
The tournament continues to gather momentum, with teams now looking to build on their latest results and strengthen their positions ahead of the next round.
