The FCT Police Command has dismissed as false a viral report alleging that young people around Nyanya are selling their kidneys for money.
The report also claimed that an agent in Mararaba was allegedly buying human kidneys from residents.
However, in a statement on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, says the Command had neither received nor confirmed any report relating to the alleged kidney sales.
Adeh stresses that no statement or communication confirming the claims emanated from the FCT Police Command, urging members of the public to disregard the publication.
She warns residents against sharing unverified information capable of causing fear, panic and unnecessary apprehension in the community.
The Command, however, urges anyone with credible information on alleged human organ trafficking or other security concerns within the Federal Capital Territory to report to the nearest police station for appropriate action.
