The Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Oluwaseun Faleye, has urged staff to improve service delivery and strengthen public trust through consistent professionalism and customer care.
Faleye gave the charge on Tuesday in Abuja, while flagging off the 2026 Customer Service Week celebration at the Fund’s headquarters.
He said the theme, “Go the Extra Mile,” should become a permanent work ethic rather than a slogan observed only during the celebration.
According to him, consistent excellence in service delivery would improve public perception of the Fund, enhance customer experience and give staff greater satisfaction in their work.
“Going the extra mile will give us the extra edge in terms of how people perceive us, how people experience NSITF and, of course, personal satisfaction, knowing that you are doing your best for people,” he said.
Faleye stressed that the Fund’s mandate required empathy, sensitivity and understanding, particularly when dealing with workers affected by occupational injuries, disabilities or diseases, as well as employers and dependants of deceased workers.
He also called for stronger collaboration among departments, noting that the quality of internal service delivery directly affects the services provided to the public.
The NSITF chief identified inspection and audit, compliance, and claims as departments that must work together to ensure efficient handling of requests and timely assistance to customers.
He cautioned staff against abandoning the principles of excellent customer service after the celebration, urging them to sustain the commitment in their daily responsibilities.
“I don’t want us to just use the moment, the week, the month as a customer service-oriented period and afterwards go back to our usual status. I want us to keep that momentum and sustain it going forward,” he said.
