Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, says he will present a scorecard of President Bola Tinubu’s projects, policies and programmes within 14 days as preparations begin for the 2027 presidential election.
He explained that the proposed PBAT Stewardship Account will document government projects by location, cost and implementation status, including those that remain unfinished.
Abbas also plans to present a scorecard of the 10th House of Representatives, detailing bills passed, reforms enacted and oversight activities carried out in partnership with the Tinubu administration.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Musa Krishi, the Speaker urges the President to adopt the reporting template for political officeholders serving under his administration.
Abbas expressed optimism that the exercise would promote accountability by requiring officials to document their contributions to the administration’s performance.
“Every intervention will carry a location, a value, and a status. And where something remains undone, I will say so, because an account that hides its gaps is merely an advertisement,” he said.
The statement reveals that Abbas made the proposal at a meeting of the City Boy Movement with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday.
As an example of the administration’s projects, Abbas cited the 100-bed Renewed Hope Specialist Hospital in Zaria, Kaduna State, which he said opened in May 2026 under the administration’s Sustainable Development Goals programme.
According to him, the facility was handed over to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital for management and is equipped with operating theatres, a laboratory, ultrasound services and emergency care.
The Speaker said the hospital demonstrated how government interventions could improve access to healthcare.
He urged elected and appointed officials serving under Tinubu to account for their individual contributions to the administration.
“If you hold a share of the President’s mandate, you owe him, and you owe the public, a statement of what that share has produced,” Abbas said.
