The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have pledged to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in a renewed effort to enhance national security and stability across the country.

A statement on Wednesday by Customs spokesperson, Abdulahi Maiwada, says the commitment was made during a strategic engagement between the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, in Abuja.

Adeniyi, while receiving the Police chief, congratulated him on his appointment and expressed confidence in his leadership, stressing the need for stronger synergy among security agencies to tackle emerging security threats.

He said the Customs Service remains committed to supporting the Police in ongoing efforts to restore peace and safeguard national interests, noting that enhanced cooperation would improve intelligence sharing and coordinated operations.

“The NCS stands with the NPF in these challenging times. We will continue to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across the country. Together, we can strengthen the safety and stability of our nation,” he said.

In his remarks, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, described the visit as an opportunity to deepen the longstanding relationship between both agencies.

He added that sustained collaboration would strengthen their collective capacity to address security challenges.

The engagement provided a platform for both organisations to explore areas of mutual interest and reaffirm their shared commitment to national peace, security, and development.
